This is How We Do It
I’m a virtual adviser. Location independent. That means I connect with folks via email, texting, phone, and video calls. Taking advantage of today’s communication technology allows me to work with clients anywhere in the United States.
It means you don’t have to drive to an office, find parking, take time off from work, take time away from the tennis courts, leave the grandkids, get a baby sitter…you get the idea.
And no wood-paneled office, no leather couches, no conference room with a whiteboard, no Fox Business or CNBC on the waiting room TV, no diplomas and awards on the wall, and no office coffee. I know you’d like my Italian Roast. (right from the pod)
Virtual meetings are not for everybody. I get it. If it’s not your style, I can probably refer you to an advisor that would be. If it is, here’s what’s happens next.
We set up an introductory video call. We’ll get to know each other and find out if we’re a good fit. A green light leads to the IAGA Process.
It’s All God’s Anyway™ Process (IAGA)
Investigate In this step, we’ll delve deeper into your financial life. Where are you, and what are you doing currently? What are you trying to accomplish? Together we'll identify your most pressing financial need.
Not everyone needs a comprehensive financial plan…at least not right off the bat. Sometimes you need to set up a Roth IRA or get that old 401k rolled over to an IRA. Let's take care of what's urgent first.
Analyze Time for me to do my due diligence. I’ll run the numbers, analyze options, and formulate my recommendations.
Maybe you already have an investment portfolio but aren’t quite sure what’s in it. You’re curious about Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI) and would like to know how your current investments stack up. I can run an analysis to see how clean, lean, green, or mean it is.
Game Plan That leads to putting together a game plan, your financial playbook.
We use RightCaptial for our planning, allowing us to create dynamic, on the fly planning scenarios. You’ll have your portal to upload your financial data and access your plan.
Unlike the Ten Commandments, your game plan is not set in stone. We’ll make adjustments as life happens.
Action: This is where stuff gets done. The execution. A winning game plan never happens without taking action. We’ll follow a specific list of recommendations and action steps to implement your plan.
Much like the Apostles’ Creed is a statement of Christian belief, the OGF Investors’ Creed is a symbol of what I believe about successful long term investing. Of course, clients are not required to recite it before bedtime, but who’s to say they might not be doing that anyway.
If you’d like to have an investment portfolio managed using Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI), the fee is based on the market value of the account. Our annual advisory fee is 1% of the total market value of your assets under management (AUM). If we use a third-party manager, outside manager, or sub-advisor, the fee is an additional 0.35%, for a total of 1.35%.
Once you’re on board and we’re working the plan, you have unlimited access to me via text, email, and phone. You’re always encouraged to call as needed, but scheduling a call ahead of time on the calendar will eliminate the back and forth voice mail pickleball.
If you're not ready to invest and need guidance or a second opinion on a one-off topic, I can do a project-based financial plan. The fee ranges from $750 to $3,000 depending on the complexity.
